Free Workshop Explores Path to Homeownership

 

Gaithersburg, Md. (January 10, 2019)  Owning a home doesn’t have to be an impossible dream. Bank On Gaithersburg and the Financial Wellness Coalition are hosting a free workshop to help Gaithersburg residents explore the path to homeownership. This 90-minute seminar takes place on Thursday, January 31 at 6 p.m. in the Community Services offices at Wells/Robertson House, 1 Wells Avenue, on the grounds of City Hall.

 

Market leaders and mortgage lenders who are members of the Financial Wellness Coalition will discuss the pros and cons of homeownership, explain down payments, mortgage insurance, closings costs and other fees, and provide information on how to select real estate agents and mortgage lenders. There will be ample time for questions and answers.

Housing programs administered by the City of Gaithersburg include Moderately Priced Dwelling Units and Workforce Housing Units, closing cost and down payment assistance for first time homebuyers, and deferred loans for homeowners and qualified tenants who wish to make their homes accessible.
